Kendrick Lamar & YG Protest In L.A.
We gon’ be alright!
As protests continued through the weekend, many celebrities participated in the movement in Los Angeles on Sunday (June 7).
Kendrick Lamar made a rare public appearance in his hometown for the Compton Peace Walk. Keeping a low profile in black sweats and a mask, K-Dot joined his fellow CPT natives and NBA stars DeMar DeRozan and Russell Westbrook as they marched from Gateway Towne Center to the Martin Luther King Jr. monument by City Hall.
Other music celebrities who joined the rally across the city including Trey Songz and Usher who rode their bicycles from Hollywood to Venice for the Black Rides for Black Lives rally.
YG also hit the streets of Hollywood where thousands gathered for a Black Lives Matter protest. During the rally, the Bompton rapper shot the music video for his latest single “FDT (Fuck The Police)”, which he has caught some criticism for despite the peaceful gathering.
